this is a big thing for me because she isn't in Germany very often... But for the first of december I registered at her arms-hands+mysteryofslowmotion workshop at Leyla Jouvana's in Duisburg. It is only two hours...but I can't stay several days to do more workshops with her :-(

Wed, September 26, 2007 - 9:59 AMAah! A workshop with Aziza is hard work and great fun! I had one (yes, only one unfortunatly) early this year. I was nervous to death (did't think I was already good enough, but I'm such a big fan of hers I just couldn't stay away) - it was a workshop for advanced and I don't consider myself as advanced. But it turned out to be just fine! I was not that bad and had a lot of fun. It was a drum solo choreogaphy with lots of funny accents - I loved it. She danced it on Leyla Jouvana's most recent festival (after her performance with the poi). Aziza is a very lovely lady and gives attention to each participant.
I hope I can do some workshops with her next year. I still regret I didn't went to her veil workshop...
Ah Nuria, you will have a great time there - you will certainly learn a lot! -

Wed, September 26, 2007 - 11:44 AMYou can order these dvd's directly form Leyla Jouvana's website : www.leyla-jouvana.de/v2d/shop/index.html , you have to choose "Medien" and then you get on the page of her dvd's. Last festival was the 14th Orientalisches Tanzfestival Europas. There are 2 dvd's (first - vol 13 - and second part - vol 14) Aziza and Ava Fleming are dancing on boh of them. My teacher Serkan and Artemisa (also from Belgium) are dancing in the bonus part of the Vol. 13 dvd. The poi and drum solo performance from Aziza are on vol. 14.
These dvd's are rather expensive, but there are a lot of performances on it. I've never been to the festival, but it is a pretty big one (several days). -

It is only two hours, sigh. I would like four at least.

i just asked leyla for another american friend, if it's possible. you should be able to order them from her through the website, but she fears shipping might be expensive. or just send Leyla an email, she's very good at answering (though i think she's on tour at the moment)

vol 14 and 13 are from last years festival, but Aziza is on the previous one too, and one before that. the veil poi on 14 is breathtaking.
you might also be able to get them from Aziza (waves, didnt you have some for sale as well? i dont remember).... -

i agree they are expensive, but worth it. ava fleming is on it too, and very good, and leyla, and her show group... the one from the year before i love as well, with amir thaleb and jillina.

I had been encouraged by my bellydancer-teacher, Artemisia (Belgium), to attend her workshops at Leyla Jouvana's in Duisburg, Germany last year, end november. Wauw! It was so great. I attended her ws for 6 days! She is really wonderfull as a person, as a teacher. I love her beautiful graceful dance-style.
For this year, end november at Leyla's, I immediately registered without hesitating. I can't wait to feel her positive energy!

Wed, January 16, 2008 - 12:12 AMShe is coming back to Brussels!!! I think 30, 31/5 and 1st of June. In Nuriyya's Ya Salam-Festival. But I think maybe I can do only 1 workshop the 1st of June - and that is not even certain.... And I will miss the show on Saturday night......
I feel real badly about this.... I really love this dancer!!
